Incorporated on 5th December 1944, the Western India Football Association Limited (Corporate Identification Number: U99999MH1944PTC004141) has been the cornerstone of football development in the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, and the Union Territories of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli for over eight decades. Registered under the Companies Act, 2013, and previously under the Indian Companies Act, 1913, our organization operates as a not-for-profit Section 8 company, reinvesting all proceeds back into the sport.
Our registered office is located at Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. We work in close coordination with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and are recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Our vision is to make Western India a powerhouse of football talent, providing a structured pathway from grassroots to the professional national stage.

Western India Football Association Limited was formally incorporated in Mumbai, with the objective of promoting and controlling association football in the region.
Organized the first Western India Football League, establishing a formal competitive structure for local clubs.
Launched structured youth development programs and school tournaments to identify talent at an early age.
Implemented coach and referee education programs, aligning with AIFF's national standards.
Established a dedicated wing for women's football, launching the first WIFA Women's Championship.
Launched online registration, live tournament streaming, and a digital talent database to modernize operations.
As per our Memorandum of Association, WIFA is engaged in a wide range of activities to govern, promote, and develop football at all levels.
We organize, supervise, and control football tournaments, leagues, and championships at senior, junior, sub-junior, and youth levels for both men and women across Western India. This includes the prestigious WIFA Elite League, State Cups, and inter-district competitions.
Implementing nationwide grassroots programs like AIFF's Golden Baby Leagues to introduce children aged 6-12 to football. We establish school leagues, community centers, and provide equipment and curriculum support to nurture a love for the game from an early age.
Conducting AIFF-certified coaching and referee courses (from D License to Pro Diploma). We build a qualified workforce to raise the standard of play and ensure fair competition. Annual workshops and continuous education programs are a key focus.
Governing the sport by framing rules, registering players, and affiliating districts, clubs, and institutions. We maintain disciplinary control, handle transfers, and ensure adherence to FIFA, AIFF, and WIFA statutes for the integrity of the game.
The flagship state-level league featuring the top 16 clubs from across Western India. A premier competition serving as a direct pathway to the I-League and ISL scouting networks.
Promoting gender equality in sports, this championship features state teams and top clubs competing for the title. A critical platform for identifying talent for the Indian women's national team.
The premier youth competition for clubs and academies. Scouts from national and international clubs attend. Winners represent Western India at the national finals.
WIFA operates a structured, four-tier talent identification system designed to spot and nurture players from a young age through to the professional ranks.
Our scouts are present at every major tournament, and our digital portal allows players to create profiles for direct visibility.
